I wasnt born a healer; it
didnt pop out in me until I was in my twenties. I didnt know what to make of
it, and it took many years to wade through my own misconceptions and misunderstandings
about it. What makes me special is the same thing that makes you special. We are all
children of God. We are all specks of spirit meant to live our lives in unique and
individual ways. Each of us has gifts that we are meant to share. Often we seek long and
hard to discover what it is we are to do with our lives. Sometimes we forget to look at
the simplest things. The Navajos say our gift is that we are here at all. Just
breathing in and out is our gift to the world. But most of us feel we have to do more than
that. Most of us feel we have to use our days productively, and actively give to others in
some way. Whether it be that we help feed our fellow beings by farming, processing,
packaging and delivering food; or we help clothe them by assisting in designing,
manufacturing, wholesaling and retailing garments; or we help house them by working as
loggers, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, architects, roofers, painters, landscapers,
carpet layers and mattress makers; each and every moment that we participate in serving
each other is beneficial to us all.
Ive worked at a number of
jobs in my life, but somehow the most important to me is what Im doing now. I found
my calling, my passion, and my place in life. I also found that hand-in-hand with learning
to heal came teaching others that they can do this, too. Im just a normal, everyday
guy. Im pretty darn average. If I can become a healer, then anyone can. It
didnt take getting hit by lightning or having a near death experience. It
didnt take formal schooling or degrees. It took being open to the natural gift
inherent in us all. It took valuing each phase of life until I found how simple, and
innate, healing actually is. It took a bit of courage to be odd or different, but mostly
it took listening to my heart.
I was born in 1934, the second of six children. On the seventh
day I was running a high fever, turned blue and was given the last rites. My mother fed me
barley water and somehow I made it. We were raised on a 103-acre farm in Hopewell, New
Jersey. We grew cabbage, tomatoes and corn; raised chickens and had some cows for our own
milk. As a child I would get excited watching the tractor being hooked up to the corn
sheller and going to the farmers market in Trenton with my father to sell our goods. My
father was very, very strict typically Italian; he didnt show much emotion.
Living out on the farm, we didnt have neighbors or much
company. Sometimes all my aunts, uncles and cousins would come out and my mom would
prepare food. It was a great event. It was exciting to see them.
We had a victrola. When we picked corn, our incentive was to
keep picking until we got to the end of a row. Then wed wind it up and listen to a
record on the way down another row. I loved country music and we had Hank Williams to help
us through the harvesting.

Michael the
Entertainer . . .
I would have gotten up to sing anywhere. I just
kept letting musicians know that I was in the audience and asking if I could come up and
sing. After awhile I teamed up with my guitar player friend and his brother, The Gladwell
Brothers. They were good and had good harmony. I had this ability to be a front man. I did
impressions. I wanted to be another Tom Jones. Finally, I quit the milk plant and worked
full time as an entertainer. I was comfortable performing and got paid very well. At last,
I was in my element.
I picked songs I thought the
audience would like. Though I never knew how to read or write music, or what key I sang
in, I had an ability to narrate, tell stories, mimic and create a flow. I somehow could
feel what would work with an audience and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Eventually, I
started deejaying, booking other acts and was in charge of entertainment for a 300-seat
club. We had acts like Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell, Kitty Wells and Donna Fargo. I sang
there, too.

First Healing . . .
A year or so went by after learning to meditate.
One afternoon I was having coffee in a truck stop in Bordentown, New Jersey. The waitress,
who knew me, asked, "Mickey, do you have an aspirin? Were not allowed to sell
them here. There is a gentleman in the corner with a headache."
I shook my head no.
I put down my coffee and without thinking, got up automatically
and walked over to him. "Excuse me, I think I can help you. Im not going to
touch you or anything." I dont know why I said that. I had no idea what the
heck I was doing. Something just compelled me.
I put my right hand over the top of his head. I didnt
touch him. I felt like I could do it, but didnt know what "it" was. I just
moved my hand above his head and his headache disappeared. He said his head started to
tingle and the headache went away. I was both shocked and delighted.
. . .
Some Interesting Healings . . .
One gentleman came to me suffering from insomnia. On the third treatment he
informed me that he had been deaf in one ear since birth, but that his hearing had come
back. This is a circumstance where I was treating the whole body, unaware of a particular
ailment. It is always interesting to me how the body seems to have an innate intelligence
and ability to take the energy and put it to work healing things we didnt expect.
Another remarkable healing was a little Israeli boy, maybe five
years old, on crutches. He scalded his foot with hot water. His mother pulled off his sock
and the skin rolled off with it. She put aloe vera on his foot and brought him to me. He
had two healings. After the first, he walked with no pain. He never blistered and never
scarred. We could actually see the colors change right before our eyes.
A woman weighing around 300 pounds came to see me. She had a
little tiny face, cropped hair and was in so much stress and pain. As I started to treat
her, her whole body shook. It trembled. Id never seen anything like it. I
hadnt even touched her. I was working only in her aura and she started to shake. She
felt heat going through her body, relaxing her muscles. When I finally laid my hands on
her she continued shaking so much I thought the table would break. Id never
experienced this. Thank God Id seen something similar in a documentary on healers or
it would have really frightened me.
She shook through the whole treatment. I treated her four or
five times. It was not until the third treatment that she stopped shaking and a wonderful
peace came over her. All of her muscles totally relaxed. She came together mind,
body and spirit. It was educational and amazing to watch this woman transform, as her
muscles let go of all the accumulated stress and tension.
It is always difficult to predict exactly how many treatments
healing might require. I was treating a woman with sciatica once. Up till then Id
had nearly immediate success. She had five treatments and wed only put a slight dent
in the pain. Then boom! On the next treatment it completely disappeared. Another gentleman
came with pain in his groin, which hed had for many years. After the first treatment
he said his body, mind and spirit felt great, except his groin still hurt. My gut feeling
was to treat him four days in a row. I adjusted the fee so he could afford to come. On the
fourth treatment we got it. It never returned.
. . .
What I've Learned . . .
It doesnt seem necessary for people to believe that this work will help them
or heal them. There is something about the energy that transcends thought or belief. Over
the years Ive seen time and again, people come in skeptical and leave relaxed and
pain free. It doesnt work the same for everyone, every time. It does, however, seem
to bypass our limited thinking and allow the body to heal itself.
. . .
When I was first starting out, I thought I was completely alone
in this. I hadnt yet found information about other healers or their experiences.
What a fool I was. There are healers throughout history and all over the world. They work
in different ways but there is a thread of similarity.
.
. .
I didnt choose this life
exactly. I mean, who would? Its as though it chose me. Over the years, I discovered
very simple and practical ways to place myself into the altered state or God consciousness
that allows me to activate the energy into my hands. I knew I had to still my mind and
when I became aware of some yoga breathing exercises, I got very excited. It helped me
develop a treatment that works and one that others can learn quickly and easily.
This ability isnt available only to me. Anyone with an
open mind can learn to do this. My dream is to have a healer in every household. I want to
help raise the consciousness of the planet to accept that we all can heal. We can learn to
keep the aura clean and prevent disease. We can learn how our thoughts affect every cell
of our body. All of our cells have consciousness and memory. Theyre like little
children playing in a playground. If prolonged periods of anger or hatred come, they get
confused and dont know how to behave properly. They go berserk and there goes the
immune system.
We all have this energy. I hope the medical profession realizes
this human potential one day. The medicine of the future was here centuries ago. It is
energy healing. We can stay healthy with it.
There are many healers in the world today. Each has something to
contribute. The biggest problem most healers have is accepting it. I know what I went
through until I trusted it. I became good because I do it every single day. You simply
have to try. You simply have to believe what you experience, and what others say they
experience. You can learn to do this faster and easier than I did. It took me years to
discover how to utilize what was happening to me. I wanted to share that process with
others so they didnt have to struggle. This was not a gift to be kept secret, but
one to share. One to shout from the rooftops and offer to every living soul. Every day
that I utilize this energy and offer it to others, I expand my experience of it. Im
a practitioner, a teacher and always a student. Im still learning, too.
I choose to do this because it is my calling. Im driven to
do this. I must do this. It consumes me. It sounds crazy but I just want to keep going and
going and going with it. I realize, too, what it is doing for me. It heals me. I can come
into the office feeling out of sorts, but the minute I lay my hands on somebody my whole
mind, body and spirit shifts. Im constantly giving of this energy but Im
getting much more in return. Its a spiritual exchange. Its where I belong.
I have a dream, that everyone who works with my method will
utilize it to help family and friends. If each and every one of us learned the simple and
natural basics of energy healing, we would be able to help each other all the time. Not
only with our everyday aches and pains, but also in crisis. Maybe in our lifetime, there
will be more tangible research to show us scientifically how this works. Until then, we
have to trust personal experience and anecdotal evidence. If we place our hand on
someones head and they feel better, what does it matter if there has been no
machinery to record what happened? Which is more important the result or the
research? What matters most is that a person is helped, feels better and heals. What
matters most is people and how they feel. We each have a contribution to make in our
collective health. What better contribution than to share our innate ability to heal
ourselves, and others.
It is an incredible reward to help someone. Ive had people
come to me that had been to medical doctors, chiropractors and physical therapists without
success. No one was able to help. When I can help someone who has lost hope, it is the
most rewarding thing in the world.
.
. .
Im not sure the energy is
exactly electricity but I was once attempting to drain a womans sinuses. She was
sitting on my table with her feet suspended several inches above the floor. I was sitting
on my rolling stool and my feet were resting on the rim of the stool. Neither one of us
were directly touching the ground. My right hand was about three inches from her face and
I was concentrating the energy into her sinus cavity. A visible arc of light leapt out of
my finger to her nose. She jumped back. I fell off the stool. It actually knocked me off
the stool and onto the floor. It felt like an electrical shock, like a small bolt of
lightning. I saw the spark leap out of my fingers. She felt the snap on her nose and in
her body.
I like to call this "electricity from God." It is a
projection of some form of electrical or electromagnetic current. In the altered state of
consciousness we are generating, to a lesser or greater degree, a tremendous current.
.
. .
In the next pages you will find
step-by-step instructions to guide you through my technique. They are simple and based on
much trial and error. In time you will find your own unique way of working with healing
energy, just as I found mine. I hope that my years of discovery help you bypass much of
the doubt. I know that what took me decades to learn will take you only days. This method
quickly teaches you to observe and direct your breath, find the stillness of your mind,
activate the light energy through your hands and convey it to others near and far. I hope
it will also help you embrace the most important lesson of all, which is to have the
courage to be your authentic and complete self. In takes courage to allow God to work
through us. It takes courage to be different. But that is exactly what allows each of us
to unleash the innate power of healing.
